Transportation and Travel Services

Getting here is as simple as boarding Air Canada or Air North flights to Whitehorse from Vancouver, BC, or Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. Vancouver is conveniently connected nationally and internationally. The flight from Vancouver to Whitehorse takes approximately two hours and from Los Angeles to Whitehorse, 5 hours.

Charter aircraft are readily available in the territory, and there is scheduled air service to all of the Yukon's major communities. If you are shipping from Vancouver, count on three days (36 hours of driving) for a truck to travel the Alaska Highway to Whitehorse. Winter months may extend the travel time. In a rush? The Yukon has courier and shipping companies that will get your rushes in and out on a daily basis.

From Jet Rangers to Hueys, from Super Cubs to Otters, from pressurized turbo twins to DC3s and 4s you'll find a flock of helicopters, float planes, and airplanes in the Yukon. Every community has an airport and you'll also find landing strips in remote parts of the Far North and on the Dempster Highway. Float planes make it possible to go anywhere where there's water.

We are served daily by Air Canada and Air North from Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. In summer, we have direct flights from Europe.

Air Charter

At last count there were over twenty airplane charter companies operating here. From fast, pressurized turboprops to Vintage bushplanes...the Yukon’s got them all.

Boats and Boat Wranglers

Need a boat, canoe, raft, filming platform, white water kayak? Yukoners are river and lake people. Several rental companies specialize in water craft.

Bus Services

Greyhound service, and some private bus lines crisscross the Yukon. Bus rentals and leasing are available.

Helicopters

There are helicopter charter companies in every Yukon town. Five companies have film credits and Yukon pilots have flown Imax mounts, Wescam, Megamounts, and all types of Tylers.
